Float Critical Care

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Newark, New Jersey
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
  • 36 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Unit details: Combined ICU and CCU
  • Floating: Must float within skillset; may float to ICU/CCU, CTICU, Step Down, and ED Holding for ICU patients waiting for a bed
  • Ratios: 1:1–3 in critical care; 1:4 when floated to stepdown
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Winter holiday coverage required: work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Jersey
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Swan-Ganz catheter experience
  • Experience with or exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD
  • CTICU or medical cardiology experience

Additional Notes

  • Scrubs: Navy Blue
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
