CVICU Registered Nurse

Overview

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• CVICU (2 years of experience)
• CVICU experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Holidays as scheduled
• Floating within the specialty, sister units, and lower acuity as needed

Clinical Focus

• Cardiac surgery cases including CABG and valve procedures
• CAD cases including STEMI, NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and cardiogenic shock
• Vascular cases including peripheral bypasses and EVAR
• Thoracic cases including VATS

Additional Hiring Requirements

• Two supervisory references
• Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
• Previous 5 years of employment history verification
• Government-issued photo ID
• I-9 and E-Verify documentation
• Background check and state exclusion screening
• Physical exam
• Negative TB screening or chest X-ray
• Drug screen
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption for the 2025–26 season
• Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation
• Fit test
• Photo for badge
• Signed RN job description and confidentiality agreement before start
