ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Location: Metairie, Louisiana
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department experience
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
• Experience with Epic

Schedule / Assignment Details

• Weekends required: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Call not required
• Floating required to all ICUs; may also float to the ED or PACU to care for ICU patients, and occasionally to MS/PCU units with 1:4 ratios
• Patient ratio is 1:2, sometimes flexing to 1:3

Clinical Notes

• Nurses perform lab sticks, EKGs, and line starts
• Must be able to care for isolation patients, including COVID-19 patients
• Know your N95 mask size

Compliance / Onboarding

• RTO limited to 5 days total
• CPI may be completed onsite if not already certified, at additional cost
• Background check, drug screen, immunization, and other onboarding documentation are required before start
