Job Overview

  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
  • Weekend requirement: 1 weekend per 4-week schedule period
  • Call requirement: Up to 4 call shifts per month and 1 weekend shift per 4-week scheduling period
  • Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units/sister facilities
  • First-timers accepted: Yes
  • Local candidates: Accepted within 60 miles, case-by-case
  • Block scheduling: Requires manager approval and depends on unit needs

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience
  • Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
  • NBSTSA certification
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Radiation badge required; must be provided by the agency
  • Level I trauma experience/setting required
  • South Carolina license verification required, as applicable to the role

Preferred Experience

  • Neuro cases, including spines/crani
  • ENT flaps
  • Robotics, including DaVinci Xi

Worksite Notes

  • Scrub color provided
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Parking requires a permit and a $20 registration fee for a hang tag; additional parking fees may apply outside the designated garage
  • Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season

Compliance / Pre-Start Items

  • 2 clinical references
  • Resume/application with all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
  • Skills checklist for the applicable unit, updated annually
  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked for the past 7 years
  • Education verification required
  • Physical exam
  • Fit test within 90 days of start, then annually
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
  • Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • COVID vaccination documentation preferred; declination accepted if not provided
  • Orientation modules must be completed before start
  • Photo for badge required before start
  • State exclusion list required
  • Work eligibility and identity documents required

Additional Notes

  • Radiation exposure badge process must be completed before the traveler can start on the floor
  • All required documents and modules must be completed before orientation
  • Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, and Magnet hospital
