Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Edmonds, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Outpatient Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse
- Schedule Options:
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
- 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- No weekends, no call, no floating required
- Start Date: ASAP
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Minimum of 3 years oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- Other certifications may be required based on clinical track but not specified for this role
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
- Education verification required (nursing degree verification)
- State-specific searches and verifications as required by Washington state law
- NURSYS license verification required
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Respirator medical clearance required annually for travel nurses
References & Employment History
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates
- Work history verification may be required if reference requirements are not met
Additional Information
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Float policy acknowledgment may be required (may float to nearby facilities)
- Radiation badges issued by facility as applicable
