Job Description

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: Combination of two 16-hour shifts and one 8-hour shift on weekends
    • Weekend hours: Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
    • Additional day shift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Guaranteed hours
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Weekend work required
  • No block schedule accommodation
  • Pending state license accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: RTO greater than 7 days requires approval

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
  • Siemens MRI experience required

Required Qualifications

  • MRI Technologist with at least 3 years of experience
  • MRI Technologist experience within the last year
  • Siemens MRI experience
  • Valid MRI Technologist license (State license not required for MRI Techs, but pending state license accepted)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
  • Compliance with all required background checks and verifications
  • Must have photo ID matching legal name on first day

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 12 months of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Education verification including foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
  • Sex offender search
  • Employment application with 7-year work history and no gaps greater than 90 days
  • Work history verification for last 7 years (attestations not accepted)
  • Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for MRI Techs

Certifications & Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required within 12 months, minimum 85% score)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024 or later, minimum 80% score)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (clean shaven required)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Required vaccinations or proof of immunity:
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccine series, or declination within 1 year)
    • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician documented history)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (9/1 - 3/31)
  • COVID vaccine series preferred

  • Completion of multiple mandatory training modules and attestations, including but not limited to:
    • Language Services Training
    • CAUTI Education Training
    • Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
    • Mobile Heartbeat Alarm Module (not required for ER/ED, Pediatrics, ICU, NICU)
    • Stroke Education (not required for pediatric specialties and NICU)
    • CLABSI Prevention Training
    • Preventing Pressure Injury Training
    • Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
    • Pyxis ES MedStation Training
    • Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
    • Patient Bedside Rounding (except OR, Behavioral Health, Ambulatory, ER/ED)
    • Ventricular Assist Device Awareness (not required for some campuses)
    • AME Blood Administration Module (not required for Case Managers, Behavioral Health, Home Health)
    • New Employee Orientation Module
    • 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for MRI Techs)
    • Fire Safety Module (effective 5/4/2026)
    • Chaperone Policy Training (effective 5/31/2024)

Additional Notes

  • EPIC training/testing may be required depending on prior experience; optional to test out before orientation
  • References: One supervisor reference within the past year required for Cardio Thoracic ICU/CTICU; charge nurse references not accepted
  • Must comply with all facility policies and complete required attestations via electronic signature

This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for experienced MRI Technologists with Siemens experience, willing to work extended weekend shifts in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
