Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic nursing due to trauma status of the unit. This is a travel/contract position in an acute care hospital with 277 staffed beds. The nurse will primarily work night shifts (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 18:45 to 7:15) and may need to cover one night shift as needed during the contract. Floating between like units is required. Weekend work and on-call shifts are mandatory, with call distributed equally every 6 weeks (up to 6-8 shifts including nights, evenings, and weekends).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Neurology experience
- Vascular Surgery experience
- Orthopedics experience
Work Environment & Schedule
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 to 7:15).
- Weekend Requirement: Yes.
- On-Call: Yes, shared equally every 6 weeks (6-8 shifts including nights, evenings, weekends).
- Floating: Required between like units.
- Start Times: Variable start times at 7:00 or 9:00 may be required.
- Block Scheduling: Available at manager discretion.
- Parking: Free parking available.
- Charting System: Epic electronic health record.
