Overview
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- Hours per week: 48
- Contract length: 18 weeks
Role Summary
- Care is in an emergency department setting with a high volume of admitted patients.
- The assignment may include primarily admitted patients and may involve ED holding.
- Medication administration, including IV medications, and documentation/communication of clinical findings are part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Trauma experience
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Travel experience is strongly preferred.
- Level I trauma experience is preferred.
Scheduling and Assignment Details
- 36- or 48-hour shifts may apply; 48 hours applies only to travelers with both Level I and travel experience.
- Floating may include pediatric ED, adult PCUs, ED holding, and trauma as needed.
- No block scheduling.
- No on-call requirement.
- RTO greater than 7 days requires approval.
- No locals within 100 miles.
Compliance Notes
- RQI certifications are not accepted.
- Cerner familiarity may be tested out of during orientation if applicable.
- COVID vaccination is not required, but documentation or declination may be requested.
- Flu documentation is required prior to start.
- TNCC must be completed before submission.
- NIH certification may pend until the compliance document due date before start.
