Job Opportunity: Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:30 PM)
  • Weekend/Holiday Requirements: No weekends or holidays required
  • Work Setting: Outpatient oncology clinic with floating among clinics; nurses are partnered with specific tumor groups seeing patients on designated days
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
  • Minimum 1 year of Hematology/Oncology nursing experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • IV Certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in an outpatient setting

Additional Requirements & Compliance

  • Background Checks:
    • Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches
    • Must have no open cases or pending charges
  • Drug Screening: Negative 10-panel urine drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within the last 12 months confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
    • Immunizations and titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap as required
    • Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • Respiratory Medical Clearance: Required prior to start, including on-site fit testing (annual update required)
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 12 months of start
    • Pass/fail testing including EKG and IV Therapy/Infusion exams (first attempt within 72 hours of signing)
  • References: Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
  • Work History: Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history; New Jersey candidates require verification of at least 1 year prior to start with no gaps over 30 days
  • Skills Checklist: Must be completed and updated annually

Travel & Other Notes

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Floating: Nurses will float among clinics but are assigned to specific tumor groups
  • Documentation: Government-issued photo ID and driver's license required within 48 hours of signing
  • Orientation: Completion of facility-specific annual education and safety manuals required prior to start
