Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work schedule options: 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts
• Day shift: 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM (10 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
• Interventional radiology procedures including angiography for Neuro, Oncology, and Vascular cases, plus other modality biopsies
• Case volume: 16-20 cases per day
• Call requirement: 1 day per week
• Weekend requirement: 4-6 weekend shifts
• May float to Cath Lab

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
• ARRT certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Certifications & Competencies

• Maintain current certifications as required by the unit (e.g., ACLS if applicable)
• Competency exams (Medication Test/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, Core Parts I-III) must be completed and updated annually with a minimum score of 80%

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including Social Security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, federal databases, and FACIS Level 3
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Government-issued photo ID matching candidate documentation required
• Employment application with 7 years of work history and no gaps over 30 days

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Negative TB test (Qgold/Tspot or 2-step skin test) within 3 months of start or documented past positive with chest x-ray and annual questionnaire
• Annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB test result
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with appropriate exemption forms)
• 2 doses or positive titer for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella; boosters required if titers are low, with completion within 60 days if started without full boosters
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination signed within 12 months of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) for new starts beginning 10/1/2025; exemptions and declinations accepted with proper forms
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded panel depending on hire date)

Additional Notes

• Must pass all required competency exams annually with at least 80% score
• Floating to Cath Lab may be required
• Call and weekend shifts are mandatory components of the schedule
