Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Location: Bend, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Shift Options:
    • Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
    • Day shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:30 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Total Hours per Week: 36
  • Weekend Requirement: One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) 12-hour shifts every 6 weeks
  • On-call Requirement: Call coverage for 2 weeknights every 6 weeks
  • Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Local candidates within 75-mile radius not accepted
  • Pending license considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Maximum 7 total days in the 13-week assignment

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
  • Minimum 3 years of OR Circulate experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Experience with Craniotomy cases

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations and Titers:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test (QGold) within 1 year; for positive responders, negative chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire required
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer required (vaccine series alone not accepted); booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titer
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers
  • Drug Screening: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (not required annually)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination required during flu season (deadline December 1)
  • COVID Vaccination preferred but not required; vaccination record or declination/exemption required
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance required annually and within 1 year of start

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for badge: Passport-style photo with solid background required within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start
  • Facility-specific agreements and forms must be reviewed and signed within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start
  • Skills checklist required annually
