Job Opportunity: RN Endoscopy

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: RN Endoscopy (GI/ENDO)
• Schedule: 40 hours per week, dayshift (7:15am-3:45pm rotating to 8:00am-4:30pm)
• Unit Description:

  • 8 procedural rooms
  • 3 MAC (Monitored Anesthesia Care) procedures
  • 5 Conscious Sedation procedures
  • Holding and recovery rooms
  • Open weekdays with on-call coverage for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Patient Population: Diverse
• Patient Volume: 60-70 procedures per day
• Clinician to Patient Ratio:

  • 1:1 in procedural rooms
  • 1:2-3 in PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
• Bed Count: 18 PACU bays, 8 procedural rooms
• EMR System: EPIC
• Floating: Not required
• Rotating Shifts: Yes, depending on hours (department open 6:30am-5:30pm)

Experience & Skills Required

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years (higher value from 1-2 years stated)
• Specialty Skills:

  • GI Technician Endoscopy experience
  • Olympus scope set-up, handling, and reprocessing
• Certifications:

  • Active Massachusetts RN License
  • AHA ACLS (American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • SGNA or CBSPD certifications preferred but not required

Prior Travel Experience

Required Credentials & Compliance

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active MA RN license with primary source verification (NURSYS and Board of Nursing required)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred)
• Health Requirements:

  • N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
  • TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
  • MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually
• Additional Testing:

  • Medication exam (80% passing within 365 days)
  • Dysrhythmia exam (80% passing)
• Documentation:

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city & state
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above)

Summary

This is a 13-week long-term assignment for an experienced RN Endoscopy nurse with at least 2 years of relevant experience. The role requires strong GI endoscopy skills, active Massachusetts RN licensure, ACLS and BLS certifications, and compliance with extensive health and background screening requirements. The position involves day shifts with rotating hours and on-call responsibilities. Prior travel experience is not required.
