Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I (M/S Tele RN Nights and EOW - 36hrs)

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit and Patient Population

• Unit: Surgical Stepdown Unit (Davenport)
• Two Med/Surgical Units: one 15-bed unit and one 8-bed Surgical Stepdown Unit
• Patient Ratios:

  • Med/Surg: 6-10 patients per PCA, 3-5 patients per RN
  • Stepdown: 2-3 patients per RN
• Patient Population includes post-op care for:

  • General Surgery
  • Gynecology (GYN)
  • Vascular
  • Thoracic
  • Urology
  • Oral
  • Plastics
  • Trauma
• Bed Count: 23
• Census: 23
• EMR System: EPIC

Schedule

• Night shifts
• Every Other Weekend (EOW)
• 36 hours per week
• Floating required
• No rotating shifts

Experience and Skills Required

• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience in Telemetry
• Must be able to read telemetry strips
• Skills required:

  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Management of chest tubes, nasogastric tubes (NGT), epidurals, and capnography
• Preferred skills:

  • Management of arterial lines
  • Management of neo-synephrine

Licensure and Certifications

• Current Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS Certification (ONLY AHA accepted)
• ACLS Certification preferred but optional
• Fit Test (N95) within 365 days of start date, updated annually
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30) with no exemptions
• TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
• Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date
• MMR vaccination or proof of immunity required
• MGB Medication Exam: 80% passing required
• MGB Dysrhythmia Exam: 80% passing required

Additional Requirements

• Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry
• Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists
• Verification of highest level of education
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation
• Submission of recent references (minimum 2, at least 1 supervisor)
• Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission
