Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Travel Position

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse
• Facility: Acute care hospital setting in Wichita, KS

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Licenses:

  • Current RN license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
  • CPI/MOAB High Risk Online Portion (completed prior to start)
  • Optional: CPI/MOAB High Risk On-Site Portion (completed at orientation)

• Testing & Checklists:

  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out (required)
  • Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated as per latest edition)
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)

• Health & Immunizations:

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions require mask wearing
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test: Required annually, preferred prior to start (specific mask types required in some states)
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required prior to start, with annual TB questionnaire updates
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Onboarding & Professional Requirements

• Completion of Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite)
• Completion of Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nova StatStrip training modules (pre-hire)
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
• Employment Verification and Education Verification (within 90 days prior to start)
• Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment
• Confirmation of Assignment documentation required upon initial assignment and updates with extensions

Additional Notes

• Some checklists and exams allow only two attempts to pass.
• Certain documents and verifications must be uploaded or submitted prior to or at onboarding.
• Some optional credentials/checklists may be required by unit leadership after start.
• Compliance with all credentialing and health requirements is mandatory for assignment clearance.
