Job Details

• Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
• Schedule: Every other weekend; no call required
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner OneChart
• Uniform: Blue scrubs
• Holiday Commitment: Must work both July 4th and Labor Day
• Start Date: Must start in June

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Health & Immunizations:

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Optional; if declined during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31), mask required
  • TB Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
  • Fit Test: Required annually; preferred before start, can be completed onsite
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter; includes 12 specified substances; retesting required if break in service > 90 days
• Professional Documentation:

  • Resume/Profile submission required
  • Two professional references required prior to first assignment
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 90 days of start; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
  • Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; updated if break in service > 90 days
  • Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment (start/end dates must match system records)
  • Driver’s license or state ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements)
  • Badge photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations
• Competency & Testing:

  • Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% passing score; updated every 3 years
  • Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score of at least 80%; updated every 3 years
  • Cerner Test-Out: Completion of Cerner training and test with signed attestation
  • Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start; updated annually
  • Onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding completed onsite
  • Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules for non-allied positions

Additional Notes

• Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start
• All documentation must be current and compliant with specified timelines to ensure clearance for assignment
