Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Requirements & Commitments
- Must start on or before June 8th
- Must commit to working on both July 4th and Labor Day holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Employment Practices Liability Screening (EPLS)
- MOAB Moderate Risk certification
- Successful completion of EKG exam
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific onboarding including:
- Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score
- EKG exam with passing score of at least 80% (two attempts allowed)
- Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
- Nursing contract worker onboarding (onsite)
- Education attestation and verification relevant to clinical work (must be completed within 90 days of start)
- Skills checklist for specialty, updated annually
- Health and immunization documentation:
- MMR: documented proof of two vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine: optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing required
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, chest X-ray and annual questionnaire required
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Drug screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Background checks and verifications:
- Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender registry, and others within 30 days of assignment
- EPLS check within 90 days of start
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Additional documentation:
- Resume/profile submission required
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment on agency letterhead
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
