Location: Erie, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform invasive cardiac imaging procedures independently with technical skill and judgment.
- Demonstrate proper patient positioning and radiographic techniques for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Ensure patient preparation, equipment operation, and patient monitoring are correctly managed.
- Practice radiation safety, including use of lead shielding and monitoring devices; document patient radiation exposure electronically.
- Support aseptic technique and patient safety, including use of time-out protocols during procedures.
- Function competently in the first assist role during procedures.
- Administer contrast agents under physician direction.
- Provide scheduled standby call coverage for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain point of care testing standards and perform daily quality control on procedural devices.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and coworkers, fostering teamwork and patient cooperation.
- Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols; review patient history and physician orders; document in electronic records.
- Ensure proper coding, tracking, and archiving of images and procedural charges.
- Maintain continuing education and competency requirements for the position.
Shift Details
- Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- On-call coverage for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- One of the following certifications:
- ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology
- ARRT Certificate
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Echocardiograph and Ultrasound
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred but not required
- Compliance with position-specific clearance requirements (e.g., Act 34)
