Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care focused on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care while supervising licensed and non-licensed staff. The role includes mentoring and precepting team members and participating in quality improvement and regulatory compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
Provide and coordinate education tailored to patient and family needs during hospitalization and at discharge.
Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and implement practice changes.
Comply with regulatory standards and participate in Practice Governance activities.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
Experience in an acute care setting
Experience in an inpatient setting
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
