Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Utica, New York
Shift: 12-hour Evening (10:30 AM - 11:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a 64-bed Emergency Department unit including triage, acute care, super track, trauma, CDU, and psychiatric beds.
- Patient population includes newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
- Common diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure.
- Use specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.
- Administer required drips and medications including pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Dopamine), vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lidocaine), sedation agents (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, and Insulin.
- Floating to other units is required.
- Charge nurse capability is highly preferred.
- EMR experience required: EPIC.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
Required Qualifications
- Active New York RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience with some pediatric experience.
- Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC.
- Prior travel experience is required; must document travel experience.
- Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status.
- Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics.
- NURSYS report and license verification required at submission.
- Skills checklist matching specialty required.
Additional Information
- Submission must include RTO (Return to Office) information.
- Local candidates (within 75 miles) will be considered at a local rate (not travel).
