Unit Information

• Unit: Level 3 NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
• Beds: 36
• Staffing: 2 Respiratory Therapists per shift (day and night)
• Patient Ratios: 2 therapists cover the 36-bed unit during peak volumes
• Equipment: Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A Oscillators, Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide, Vapotherms
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech and NeoNotes

Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy care in a Level 3 NICU setting
• Attend high-risk deliveries
• Manage ventilators including conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation
• Administer surfactant and nitric oxide
• Perform blood gas acquisition and interpretation

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NBRC certification
• NRP certification
• PALS certification
• Assessment of Respiratory Therapist competency or understanding of USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk
