Job Description

Seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a travel contract position. The role may involve working in outpatient, inpatient, or rehab settings with patient volume varying by area (up to 9 patients/day outpatient, up to 13 patients/day inpatient). Assignments and shifts vary and may include floating to different areas as needed.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Shifts typically 8 hours, with variable start times
• Possible shift patterns include Wed-Sun or Thu-Mon
• Weekend requirements vary by assignment
• Holidays are not required
• Orientation: Approximately 1.5 days of floor-specific orientation including job, unit, and EMR training
• EMR system used: Cerner Powerchart
• Rehab aides and assistants available to support therapy staff
• Uniform: Maroon polo shirt, dark pants, closed-toe shoes; lab coat optional

Patient Population & Common Diagnoses

• Inpatient: Orthopedic, post-surgical, neurological, trauma, cardiac, medical-surgical cases
• Outpatient: Orthopedic and neurological cases
• Rehab: Neurological, spinal cord injuries, trauma
• Excludes NICU, pediatrics, PICU, ER, ICU
• Experience with bedside swallow studies preferred (for Speech specialty, if applicable)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist (higher experience requirement takes precedence)
• Active California Physical Therapist license
• Current BLS certification
• Trauma experience preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred but not required

Additional Notes

• Candidates may be considered with inpatient clinical experience even if full one year experience is not met, depending on requisition specifics
• Assignments and patient care areas will be specified per requisition
• Pharmacy available 24/7 on site
