ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Utica, New York
Position Details
- Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
- Location: Utica, New York
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2, occasionally 1:3
- Float: Must be able to float within skillset
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Completion of Harassment Prevention Training
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic Electronic Health Record system
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start date
- Fit Mask Test: Completed within 1 year and updated annually (specific N95 masks required)
- TB Screening: Negative PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start
- Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines
- Mumps: Positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines
- Rubella: Positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines
- Varicella: Positive titer, proof of 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox
- Hepatitis B: Titer, declination, or vaccine series (3 doses)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season)
- Pneumonia Vaccination or Declination
Documentation and Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Emergency Contact Form (required prior to start)
- Background Checks (7-year search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG; updated annually)
- Education Verification and Florida Education Audit Confirmation (for RN staff)
- Facility-specific documents including:
- Photo for badge (headshot, plain background, no head coverings)
- Signed Job Description and Welcome Packet acknowledgment
- Omnicell form (for nursing staff)
- Pneumococcal declination form if declining vaccine
- Completion of online learning modules prior to first shift (specific modules provided before start)
- References:
- 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
- 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care roles
