Job Description

Seeking a Pathologists Assistant for a travel contract position in Cleveland, Ohio. This role involves supporting laboratory services and requires compliance with various credentialing, health, and facility-specific requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pathologists Assistant.
• Recent experience as a Pathologists Assistant within the last year.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Identification & Background Checks

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required and must be carried on assignment.
• Comprehensive background check prior to start, including a 7-year FCRA-compliant search.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months of start, updated annually. Must be completed under code 4723.09 (Nursing). Facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite.
• Education verification required for all candidates.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI acceptable) required for all travelers except Histology Techs.
• National certification verification relevant to the specialty.
• Annual acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual.
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start for new and extension contracts.

Competencies

• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of online training modules prior to start; must be done on a computer using Google Chrome.
• Badge photo required prior to start for clearance.
• Badge pickup on first day for X-Ray and MRI Techs; for others, badge must be on file before starting.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within one year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (not required for Histology Techs).
• Immunizations/vaccinations required with official documentation:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months of start
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Annual 10-panel drug screen (instant tests not accepted).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31).

Employment History and References

• Employment application must include 3 years of prior work history, with at least 2 years in clinical practice in an acute care setting similar to the assignment.
• Two professional references within one year of start required from a manager, supervisor, or director (co-worker references not accepted).

• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules and training prior to clearance to start.
• Fingerprinting and background checks must be current and compliant with facility and state requirements.
• All documentation must be kept up to date and submitted as required for contract continuation or extension.
