Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Work Environment: 5 Cath Lab rooms plus Hybrid OR
- Preferred Case Experience:
- Right and Left Heart Catheterization (Diagnostic)
- PCI, Complex PCI, CTO
- ASA, PFO/ASD closures
- MitralClip, Watchman, PTMV, TAVR
- Peripheral and Vascular procedures
- Preferred Skills: Scrub experience in Cath Lab
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Additional Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN Trace, Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification pending
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Work History Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified through a third-party vendor
- Competency Exams: Medication/pharmacology competency and general competency exams required
- Color Blind Testing: Required prior to start
- Physical Exam: Initial and annual physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit Mask Test: N95 fit test within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required)
- Immunizations and Health Documentation:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31), medical/religious exemptions accepted (no declinations)
- Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- Photo for Badge: Clear, passport-style photo with solid light background, business casual attire, no hats or sunglasses, must be submitted by Wednesday before start
- Facility Orientation: Completion of required online modules prior to orientation (approx. 2 hours)
Important Notes
- Start Date: Approximately 2-3 weeks from offer acceptance
- Local Candidates: Accepted within 60 miles radius (rate adjusted accordingly)
- Schedule Accommodation: No block schedule accommodation available
- Emergency Response: During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; candidates should consider this before accepting assignments during peak months (August-September)
