Nurse Navigator (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (8:00 AM - 6:00 PM), 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends or holidays

Job Description

• Role focuses on advanced heart failure patient navigation in an ambulatory clinic setting.
• Responsibilities include patient assessments, interpretation of laboratory results, cardiovascular care, medication administration, and office duties such as chart preparation, disability forms, telephone triage, and follow-up phone calls.
• Preferred experience in cardiology and family care clinics.
• Scrub color: Cranberry/Wine.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in District of Columbia.
• Minimum of 3 years of Nurse Navigator experience, including experience within the last year.
• Completion of one or more travel nursing assignments.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Skills

• Patient assessments and cardiovascular care.
• Interpretation of laboratory results.
• Medication administration.
• Office and administrative duties related to patient care.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function.
• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
• I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start.
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), including multiple substances.
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
• Immunization and health documentation including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB).
  • Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccines or positive titers.
  • Varicella vaccine or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination.
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed).
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least two years of experience within the last three years.
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.
• Skills checklist and competency exams required prior to start and updated annually, including medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams if applicable.

• This position is local within 60 miles of the facility.
• No weekend or holiday shifts.
• Annual recertification and compliance requirements apply for ongoing employment.
