Shift & Hours

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Day shift, 5 days a week, 40 hours total)

Patient Population

• Adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Required Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine
• Hospital experience required
• Experience with adults, clinics, and nuclear cardiology procedures (MUGA scans, PYP scans, exercise/pharmacological stress studies such as Lexiscan)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation)
• State license (primary source verification required; must be current and renewed before expiration during contract)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with EPIC electronic charting system
• State license preferred (if applicable)

Prior Travel Experience

• No first-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience required)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including SSN trace, all counties/states lived/worked, national sex offender, and international searches if applicable)
• Diploma or transcripts from a relevant Nuclear Medicine tech program required (official or unofficial acceptable)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, documenting good physical and mental health
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start
• Fit testing for specific masks required prior to start (3M models specified; PAPR accommodations possible for medical/religious reasons)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (clear chest x-ray within 4 years if positive TB test)
• Immunity or vaccination documentation required for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific NetLearning modules prior to start (approx. 4-10 hours depending on position)
• Pass/fail EKG rhythm interpretation exam onsite first day of orientation (not required for techs)
• Various facility-specific documents and policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including:

  • Nursing Staffing Form (not applicable for this role)

Additional Requirements

• Radiation badge required (must be supplied by the facility; Aya no longer provides badges for new candidates)
• Minimum of 2 positive professional references required
• Dated skills checklist required
• Annual performance and internal evaluations required if employed more than 1 year with the agency
• Medication and age-specific competency exams required upon hire and annually thereafter
• Harassment Prevention Training Certificate required (including subcontractors)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification may be required or completed onsite depending on unit and COVID restrictions

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience working in a clinic setting
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting system

This position is ideal for experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists with prior travel assignments who are comfortable working in a hospital setting with a diverse patient population and are compliant with extensive credentialing and facility-specific requirements.
