Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology / Pain Management

Work Schedule

• Shift: Evening, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (3:30 PM - 12:00 AM)
• On-call rotation: Weekdays (Monday-Friday) 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM; weekends and holidays 24 hours on call, rotated among all nurses
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Occasional weekend day shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• No block scheduling
• No time off (RTO) allowed on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after holidays; max 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days

Job Details

• Float requirement: Mandatory floating within Radiology and Pain departments as needed
• Staff required to wear lead protection
• Charting system: Cerner
• Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Required Compliance and Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
• Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; Illinois fingerprinting may be required
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year; medical or religious exemptions require approval for onsite PAPR use
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray if positive TB history
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct-May)
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; marijuana testing not required
• Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing (if applicable)
• NIH Stroke Certification required annually for RNs in Interventional Radiology and related specialties

• Staff must complete facility-specific forms and comply with rules of behavior
• This is a mandatory float facility; flexibility to work in multiple departments is required

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a background in Pain Management or Interventional Radiology seeking a travel contract with evening shifts and on-call responsibilities in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
