Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 4x10 hour night shifts (21:00 - 07:30)
• On Call:

  • One night per week (7pm-7am), call days may not coincide with scheduled work days
  • At least one Friday call shift required
  • On call for holidays (either 11am-11pm or 11pm-11am)
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Local Radius Rule: Must live more than 75 miles from the contracted facility
• Locals Accepted: No
• RTO (Request Time Off) Restrictions: No more than 5 days allowed
• Charting System: Epic
• Total Staffed Beds: 16
• Average Daily Census: 60

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Required Years of Experience: 2 years OR experience
• Additional Experience Required: Must have experience with neuro, ortho, robotics, and liver transplant patients (HARD STOP)
• First-Timers Accepted: Yes
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Certifications & Competencies

• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred
• Competency Testing:

  • EKG/Dysrhythmia competency testing required during compliance process
• Additional Competencies:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 100%)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (must score 90%)
  • Core Parts I, II, and III competency exams (must score 80%)
  • Color Blind Testing (within 60 days prior to start)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Identification: Current and valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID
• Proof of Address: Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address within last 3 months, address must be >75 miles from facility
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC sanctions list searches required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma verification required
  • Fingerprinting may be required depending on facility
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by Physician/PA/NP/APRN
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
  • Immunizations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis A & B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination (or approved exemption)
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (required within 30 days prior to start)
  • COVID vaccination strongly preferred (declinations accepted with agency form)
• Facility Specific:

  • Patient Care Orientation Class (Skills) mandatory
  • EPIC training required if no EPIC experience within last 6 months
  • N95 Mask Fit Testing completed onsite within 1 year of start
  • Various policy acknowledgments and agreements required prior to start

References & Work History

• Two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
• Current and updated resume covering last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps >30 days
• 10-year work history verification including international positions

This position requires a skilled RN with specific OR experience and certifications, able to work night shifts with on-call responsibilities, and meet strict compliance and documentation standards.
