Job Overview

• Block scheduling: Requires manager approval and depends on unit needs
• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• NBSTSA certification
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• South Carolina license verification required
• Level I trauma experience/setting

Clinical Setting

• Main OR in a level-one academic trauma center
• Covers a full range of surgical cases, including trauma, transplant, ortho, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics

Common Case Types

• Ortho: total joints, spine, trauma
• Neuro: crani, spine
• ENT: flaps
• Robotics
• Transplants/Procurements
• Trauma/Burns
• GU/GYN

Additional Notes

• Radiation badge required and must be provided by the agency
• Scrubs are provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• Parking requires a hang tag registration fee; additional parking fees may apply outside the designated garage
• Travelers should be aware of hurricane-season emergency response assignments from June through November
