Medical Surgical Nurse

Location

Assignment Type

• Travel/Contract

Schedule

• Day shift
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts
• 1:5–6 patient ratio
• 12–16 weekend shifts per contract
• Float required
• Manager schedules
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated depending on request
• 7 days maximum RTO; no RTO otherwise

Contract Length

• 13–26 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

• Neuro experience preferred
• NIH certification preferred

Clinical Focus

• Neuro surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses

Unit Details

• Pyxis
• SBAR
• EPIC
• 2 unit orientation shifts after hospital orientation
• Navy scrubs

Additional Expectations

• May be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team coverage
• May be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
• May be preassigned to units as needed
