Travel/Contract RN role in Newark, New Jersey
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New Jersey
ED - Emergency Department (1.5 years of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
ITTC - De-escalation Training
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience working with Adult patients
Experience with Epic
Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays, as needed
May float to Peds ED; must float within skillset
Accepts first-time travelers
Locals accepted

Clinical Skills

Central line care/management
Medication administration
Isolation precautions
Triage
IV therapy/phlebotomy
CPAP/BiPAP
ABG interpretation
Ventilator management
Continuous IV sedation
IV vasopressors
Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Unit Details

Emergency Department with 73 beds
Includes pediatrics, fast track, and a 19-bed rapid decision unit
May care for holding patients
Ratio: 1:4–6+

Schedule and Work Conditions

Every other weekend
Navy blue scrubs
