MedTele, Post Cath, Cardiac drips

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Lafayette, Louisiana
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
• 13-week assignment
• Unit includes MedTele, Post Cath, and Cardiac drips

Patient Population / Clinical Focus

• Chest pain, CAD, DM, PVD, COPD exacerbation, COVID+, TIA, stroke, hypertension, Afib, Aflutter, bradycardia, tachycardia
• Rhythm management with cardiac drips not titrated for blood pressure
• Wound infection, cellulitis, GI bleed

Procedures / Unit Details

• Pre- and post-angiogram/angioplasty
• No sheath pulls
• PPM/AICD, LINQ recorder
• General surgical procedures
• EGD, colonoscopy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy
• Wound debridement
• Chest tube, central line catheter insertions, thoracentesis, paracentesis

Equipment

• Telemetry monitoring
• Chest tubes
• Wound vacs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• NIH

Scheduling / Availability

• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during an emergency event and expected to remain at the facility or serve on the relief team as directed by the unit manager
