Inpatient Pharmacist

Role Overview

• Travel/Contract inpatient pharmacist position in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
• The role focuses on complex patient medication reconciliation, order recommendations, and making changes on behalf of the hospitalist group.
• The assignment requires working with a high degree of autonomy in a “pharmacist as practitioner” model.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in Virginia.
• Pharmacist with 3 years of experience.
• Pharmacist experience within the last year.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• Experience in an Acute Care setting.
• Experience in an Inpatient setting.
• Complex patient medication reconciliation.
• Intravenous experience.
• Pharmacotherapy management.
• Pyxis system experience.
• Carousel system experience.
• Experience with Epic.

Preferred Qualifications

• PharmD or RPh.
• Pharmacy residency from an accredited ASHP institution.
• Previous experience in a computerized hospital pharmacy setting.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Schedule

• 13-week contract.
• Shift: Monday–Friday, with hours that may vary between 07:00 and 23:00.
• Weekend and holiday rotation.
• First-timers accepted.
• Local candidates accepted.

Facility Details

• Short-term acute care hospital.
• Level II Trauma Center.
• 431 staffed beds.
• Average census: 330–360.
