Role Overview

• Travel/Contract RN position in Batavia, New York.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00.
• 36 hours per week.
• Float required to med/surg.
• Weekend coverage: every other weekend.
• Locals are not accepted; candidates must live more than 75 miles away.
• Unit accepts first-time travelers on a case-by-case basis.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York.
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year.
• 2 years of ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience.
• One completed travel assignment.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• NIHSS.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience with Epic.

Preferred

• COVID vaccination documentation.
• References for Aya candidates only.

Unit Details

• Patient population includes young adults through elderly patients.
• Common diagnoses include ventilated patients, titratable drips, substance abuse withdrawal, and cardiac, respiratory, neuro, GI, and post-op cases.
• Special procedures include A-lines, central lines, intubations, chest tubes, and open abdomens.
• Special equipment: glidescope.
• Skills listed include MICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure care, 12-lead EKG/ECG, IV insulin protocols, GI surgery, port care, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC management, IV starts, continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, CVA/acute stroke management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care and management, fresh tracheostomy, HFNC, ABG interpretation, pulmonary edema, pulmonary embolism, respiratory failure, suctioning, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and phlebotomy.
