Position Details

Shift Information

• Schedule: 40 hours per week, 5 shifts of 8 hours each (14:45 - 23:15)
• Floating Requirement: Must be willing to float to Westerly Hospital and obtain Rhode Island and Connecticut licenses.

Experience and Qualifications

• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant field.
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted.
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (for RNs)
  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics.

Additional Information

• Scrubs: Navy Blue
• Local Candidates: Not accepted; travel position only.
• Special Requirements: Strong experience in Emergency Department (ED) with infants on ventilators is preferred. NICU experience is not required.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Licensing: Candidates must apply for CT and RI licenses within 72 hours of acceptance.
• Background Checks: 7-year criminal background check required.
• Health Documents:

  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start.
  • Fit Test for masks within 12 months, updated annually.
  • TB testing and vaccination documentation.
  • Drug screening within 12 months, updated annually.
  • Vaccination records for Tdap, COVID-19, and Flu.

Training and Competencies

• Various training modules and competencies are required, including but not limited to:

  • Medication Testing
  • EKG/Medication Pass/Fail Testing
  • Specific training for patient care and safety protocols.

Facility-Specific Documents

• Attestations and training modules specific to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital and Yale New Haven Health are required prior to starting.
