Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) (Days)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work in a 14-bed Operating Room unit with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Utilize robotics equipment including DaVinci Xi, Mako, and Rosa systems.
• Expected to work 36-40 hours per week with overtime after 40 hours.
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
• Orientation dates available in early June.
• EMR system used: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of current Operating Room experience.
• Proficient in DaVinci robotics and general surgery.
• Proficient in orthopedic procedures including Total Joints.
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Skills checklist specific to Operating Room nursing discipline.
• Professional reference or performance evaluation from within the last 24 months preferred.
• Travel experience within the previous 15 months is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with spine surgery.
• Experience with Mako or Rosa robotics equipment (used in approximately 80% of total joint cases).
• Scrub experience is a plus.

Additional Information

• Employee separation policy restricts past employees of the health system from working travel contracts in other markets within 12 months unless prior travel was not through the health system.
• Call back and on-call opportunities available with additional compensation.
• Overtime and holiday work compensated at premium rates.
