Job Details

• Unit Description:

  • 7 procedure rooms (4 MAC, 3 Conscious Sedation)
  • Holding and recovery rooms
  • Open weekdays with on-call coverage for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Clinician to Patient Ratio:

  • 1:1 in procedure rooms
  • 1:2-3 in PACU
• Patient Population: Diverse
• Bed Count: 18 PACU bays, 8 procedural rooms
• Daily Census: 60-70 procedures
• EMR System: EPIC
• Floating: Not required
• Rotating Shifts: Yes, depending on hours (department open 6:30 am – 5:30 pm)

Experience & Skills Required

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• GI Technician Endoscopy experience
• Olympus scope set-up, handling, and reprocessing

Certifications & Licenses Required

• Active Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
• AHA ACLS Certification (only AHA accepted, no Red Cross or other certs)
• BLS Certification (AHA only)
• SGNA or CBSPD certification strongly preferred

Additional Requirements

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Must be able to work rotating shifts as needed
• Fit Test (N95) within 365 days of start date, updated annually
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 – April 30), no exemptions
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date
• Criminal background checks, CORI, SSN trace, sex offender check, exclusion checks required and must be current
• Required submission documents include:

  • 2 recent references (minimum 1 supervisor or above)

Summary

This is a 13-week Endoscopy RN assignment in Salem, MA, requiring a minimum of 3 years of RN experience with GI Endoscopy skills. The role involves day shifts with some rotating shifts, working in a busy endoscopy unit with a diverse patient population. Active Massachusetts RN license and AHA ACLS/BLS certifications are mandatory. Strong preference for SGNA or CBSPD certification. Multiple health and background verifications are required prior to onboarding.
