Registered Nurse - Acute - Travel

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Provide acute hemodialysis care to in-patients with chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury (AKI), and transplant patients.
  • Deliver 1:1 or 2:1 patient care in an acute hospital setting.
  • Educate patients and families on their treatment and condition.
  • Manage complex care for patients with multiple co-morbidities and acute conditions requiring specialized treatment plans.
  • Provide nephrology care across multiple renal therapies including peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, and apheresis.
  • Work autonomously, assessing, troubleshooting, and making critical decisions daily.
  • Expect variable daily schedules with long days and on-call shifts required.
  • Must be flexible to float to various clinics during and after training.
  • Must be within commutable distance to multiple hospitals and able to travel between them as needed.

Schedule

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (days may be longer depending on patient census).
  • On-call required 1-2 times per week and 1 weekend per month.
  • Must be available to pick up additional shifts to maintain guaranteed weekly hours.
  • Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum 1 year of dialysis experience, with dialysis experience within the last year.
  • Experience in an acute care setting.
