Job Opportunity: Critical Care RN Travel

Location: Fairfield, California
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

As a Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using a relationship-based care model. Your role includes collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health and recovery, while providing culturally competent and ethical care within legal standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient physical and psychosocial conditions continuously and formulate nursing diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans ensuring patient safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Perform nursing skills and procedures, educate patients and families on health care needs.
  • Evaluate care effectiveness and modify plans as necessary.
  • Use and demonstrate knowledge of medical equipment, instrumentation, and medications safely.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise care team members.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary staff.
  • Communicate effectively to facilitate safe patient handoffs and document nursing care per policy.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences and assist in resolving complaints promptly.
  • Perform physical duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Minimum of 3 years acute care nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Additional Information

  • Must complete annual organizational employment requirements.
  • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills required.
  • Accountable for meeting unit and organizational patient satisfaction goals.

Note: Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
