Travel RN - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment on the Surgical Inpatient Unit (3rd floor) at a Level III Trauma Center. The unit primarily cares for adult patients (ages 18-100+) with a focus on ortho/neuro surgery and medical/nephrology cases as needed.

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit: Surgical Inpatient Unit (24 beds)
• Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center (often cares for Level I and II trauma cases)
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 36 hours/week guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: At least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Call: None
• Float: May float to Medical/Nephrology, Inpatient Rehab, Cardiology (lower acuity patients), Med/Surg, and Pediatrics (adult patients only)
• Patient Ratio: Maximum 1:6 with frequent admits and discharges
• EHR System: Cerner
• Equipment: IV pumps, vital signs monitors

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in orthopedics and neurosurgery nursing care
• Experience working with adult patients in inpatient and rehabilitation settings
• Proficient in management of NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheters, and TURPs
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
