• Number of Openings: 6
• Shift: 7 AM or 7 PM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: 12 hours (every other or every third weekend)
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes (may float to Tele Overflow unit)

• Patient Ratios:

  • ICU: 2:1
  • IMU: 3:1
  • Telemetry: 1:5
• Patient Population: Adult
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: COPD, Acute Respiratory Failure, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Sepsis, Shock
• Equipment: Cardiac monitor, Hill-Rom Progressive Care bed with scale, Abbott Glucometer, EndoTool, Bair Hugger, TR band, Hotline 3 fluid warmer, Baxter IV pumps, Bedside Dialysis capability
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License (North Carolina)
• Education: Associate degree required; BSN preferred
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in ICU/IMU specialty
• Skills:

  • EKG interpretation
  • Critical thinking
  • Knowledge of critical drips (vasopressors, sedation) and titration
• Personality Fit: Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Scrub color not assigned; artificial nails not allowed
• Supervisor: Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse
• Orientation: Bi-weekly

This position offers the opportunity to work in a 294-bed hospital with a variety of specialty services including cancer care, cardiac care, orthopedics, imaging, and surgical services. The facility is located approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh, NC.
