Job Description

• Provide patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership for safe care delivery.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel.
• This is a float pool position requiring willingness to float between departments and occasionally to sister facilities.
• Units included in float pool: 2 Medical-Surgical departments (Ortho/Neuro), Telemetry, possibly PCU, and sometimes ED holding area for admitted patients waiting for beds.
• Typically assigned to one unit per shift; rare occasions of moving between units due to census.

Schedule & Shift

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3 twelve-hour shifts per week)
• Weekend shifts: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Requirements

• Arizona RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing
• Telemetry experience is mandatory
• Ability and willingness to float between multiple units and occasionally to sister facilities
• Patient-to-nurse ratio typically 6:1 in most departments; 4-5:1 in ED holding area
• Experience with Cerner EMR system preferred
