Registered Nurse - Inpatient Med/Surg

Location: Bethel, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Deliver patient care through nursing processes including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and coordinate nursing care based on nursing practice standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care.
• Serve as a resource when needed.
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in patient care.
• Care for patients from birth to elderly, including post-surgical and behavioral health patients.
• Conduct initial assessments and re-assessments every 24 hours.

Work Schedule

• Shifts available: Days and nights
• Hours per week: 32

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• Experience working with adult patients
• Pediatric nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training

Additional Information

• Orientation starts on a Tuesday; guaranteed hours may not apply during the first week if 40 hours/week is guaranteed thereafter.
• This position is located in a designated H1-C critical shortage area.
