Overview

Provides nursing care for patients across the lifespan, with responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. The role includes coordinating care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and supporting age-specific and culturally responsive patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alaska
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
• Current BLS
• Current NRP
• Current Fetal Monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• National Certification in Obstetrics

Additional Requirements

• Must pass and maintain competencies for the position
• Proof of completed COVID vaccinations is required

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process
• Direct and coordinate nursing care based on nursing practice standards
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support quality, cost-effective care
• Serve as a resource person when needed
• Provide care for patients from birth through elderly
• Supervise unit secretaries and OB techs in collaboration with the charge nurse
