Surgical Tech (OR Tech) - Travel Contract

Location: Sacramento, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced OR Tech for a travel assignment in a hospital setting. The role involves supporting a variety of surgical cases including General Orthopedics, Robotic, Bariatric, Urology, Gynecology, and Plastic surgeries.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Shift: Evenings, Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
• Mandatory call/standby required:

  • Weeknight call (Mon-Fri): 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekend call: 24-hour call from 7:00 AM Saturday to 7:00 AM Sunday
  • Holiday call: 24-hour call required
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Flexibility to cover call outs and shift changes is very important
• Must be willing to float as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of current OR Tech experience
• Active BLS certification
• Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Ability to independently perform DaVinci robotic cases and total joint surgeries
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred but not required
• Two supervisory references required at time of submission (one within past 12 months, one within past 3 years)

Additional Information

• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with certain large healthcare systems within the past year; however, PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
• Profiles are submitted directly to the unit for consideration
• The unit requires flexible and dependable travelers who limit call outs and maintain consistent attendance for scheduled shifts
