• Unit Beds: 33 beds (average daily census 16)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2-3 for adults
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: Minimum of 2 holidays during contract
• Orientation: 1 shift of unit/department-specific orientation
• Return to Office (RTO): Required within 7 days or less from contract start; no additional RTO approved
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling available for travelers; block scheduling generally not approved except possibly weekends only
• Floating: Typically to PCU, occasionally MedSurg with usual ratios (1:4 or 1:5)

Patient Population & Care

• Common patient diagnoses include trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, adult sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• RNs are required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• RNs troubleshoot respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
• RNs must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips (monitor brand: GE) with tele tech oversight
• Nurse aides and healthcare support techs assist based on census and volume

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Valid driver’s license at time of application (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)

Additional Requirements & Policies

• Candidates cannot be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any facility associated with a specific large healthcare system within a 50-mile radius
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove will result in contract termination
• RN candidates must pass a 90% minimum on a pass/fail open book exam during orientation (exam covers skills learned) or face contract termination
• If placed on call and called back in, must arrive within 30 minutes
• Block scheduling and duo scheduling requests (same schedule or shared car) are generally not approved

Shift Times

• Day Shift: 06:30 - 18:30
• Night Shift: 18:30 - 06:30 (though this posting is for days)
