Sonographer (Cardiac Ultrasound) - Omaha, Nebraska

Contract Details

  • Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Days
  • Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
  • Orientation: 12 hours of non-billable orientation (guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation)
  • Call-Off Policy: Up to 36 hours off allowed every 13 weeks
  • Local candidates not accepted; 100-mile radius restriction applies

Job Summary

Perform cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures to acquire echocardiographic and/or vascular data, ensuring high-quality patient care. Provide education and training on ultrasound procedures to fellows, interns, and staff.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program (one year of education equals one year of experience)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound experience in a healthcare environment
  • Registered in cardiac ultrasound or registry eligible
  • Associate's degree from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program
  • Ability to think deductively and make clinical decisions
  • Experience with ultrasound equipment, including transesophageal transducers
  • Familiarity with research computer systems, hospital information systems, and digital echo storage systems
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular and vascular circulatory system principles, including physics and blood flow hemodynamics
  • Experience with typical office equipment

Additional Notes

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Commitment to meaningful, impactful work supporting patients and colleagues
  • Call as needed during the day shift
