Overview

• 13-week contract in Dixon, Illinois
• 12-hour nights
• Department: MedSurg
• Unit size: 23 beds on the 4th floor and 14 beds on the 3rd floor
• Ratios: 1:5 ideal, up to 1:7

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license
• BLS
• 2 years of MedSurg experience
• EPIC experience
• Must be able to produce a negative drug screen

Preferred

• ACLS
• PALS

Schedule

• 7A-7P / 7P-7A
• Every other weekend, typically
• Every other holiday, typically
• No on-call requirement

Unit Details

• Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, COPD, PNA, Sepsis, and AKI
• Telemetry is present on the unit; MTs read strips and RNs sign off throughout the shift
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Charge nurse/house supervisor coverage: Yes
• PCT ratio: 1:8
• RT equipment: home units only at this time; heated high flow is the highest level of hospital support
• Floating may include ICU, ER, or BHC if the candidate has the level of experience; otherwise no floating is required out of Med Surg
• Scrub color: any
• Close-toed shoes and good hygiene required
• Department orientation: 1 shift
