Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) – Nights

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
Night shift
Unit bed size: 34
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1
Patient population: Mixed, includes drips and titrations
Float opportunity to nearby freestanding ED campus
EMR system: EPIC
Orientation dates available in early August
Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless unit is closed (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Iowa
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment within the previous 18 months
Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency Certificate)
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Valid driver’s license
Experience with EPIC EMR system

Preferred Qualifications

Active PALS and TNCC certificates highly preferred (required)
NIH Stroke Scale certificate is nice to have but can be obtained during onboarding
Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

Orientation is 16 hours

Must be able to work within a 50-mile radius of the location
Employee separation policy restricts certain past employees from travel assignments in this market

Prior Travel Experience

Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the last 18 months
