Registered Nurse (RN) — Behavioral Health

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Employment type: Temp
Shift: Nights

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oregon
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Psychiatric experience in an inpatient setting
1 year of psychiatric experience within the last year

Role Overview

Provides nursing care within the RN scope of practice
Assesses patients and develops nursing diagnoses and care plans
Administers medications and performs wound care, pain management, and other bedside nursing tasks
Assists with procedures and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team
Teaches patients and families about illness, tests, medications, and wellness
Documents care in the medical record
Supports a safe therapeutic milieu and participates in treatment team meetings

Skills and Work Environment

Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and teaching skills
Able to respond effectively in patient crisis or emergency situations
Comfortable using computers and electronic medical record documentation
Able to read, write legibly, and communicate effectively in English
Must maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance
